I had been familiar with the amazing sound of jazz guitarist Stanely Jordan, and some time ago was shocked to catch a tv clip of one of his live performances. Watch him use tapping to play Eleanor Rigby: the sound is amazing, to understand that it is coming from a single guitar is astounding, to watch his virtuousness is mindblowing.
